Somatic Resiliency:

the power of the body to recover or spring back to optimum vitality ~ to remember

Welcome to this platform where I capture and communicate the web of services that I offer to our Human and Earth Community. Whether working with you one-on-one or in a group setting, I support you in:

  • Growing your capacity for self healing through somatic resourcing,

  • Establishing healthy cycles of Nervous System regulation,

  • Growing your capacity to be with the full spectrum of your emotions,

  • Tracking body sensations,

  • Connecting with yourself, others and the earth that sustains your life more deeply,

  • Cultivating deep listening to the calling of your soul,

  • Connecting with nature as a primary resource, &

  • Learning about the cosmological influences that support your Soul path in this lifetime.

I enjoy sharing ways of connection through which I have had direct experiences of transformation and positive outcomes. My training has been a convergence of my real life and soul needs meeting strong teachers, healers and practices that are effective and tried true. You can learn more about me here.

Here you will find various approaches and practices to tending aspects of the human body, mind, heart and soul. All of them help to facilitate a deeper sense of connection with self, with others and ultimately, with the larger earth body and its inhabitants.

  • Somatic Experiencing® Sessions support trauma resolution through reconnecting you with your own innate self-healing wisdom of your body, nervous system regulation and growing your capacity and tolerance for the range of experiences you may encounter, from pleasure to the challenges of unexpected change and disaster.

  • Threshold Crossings and Initiation work supports people in deepening connection with who they truly are, breaking patterns of parental and social conditioning, strengthening nature and spiritual connection and clarifying purpose and service path. These rites of passage experiences can be supportive of marking life stage changes and growth milestones.

  • The Work that Reconnects draws on the root teachings of deep ecologist and eco-philosopher, Joanna Macy. It offers experiential ritual and exercises in group settings to deepen solidarity, community healing and resiliency in the changing times in which we live. Within this framework, Awakening Life Force : Tending our Grief workshops are offered to create brave containers to metabolize individual and collective grief.

  • Vedic Astrology Readings provide insight and guidance for people who are on a path of awakening to their deeper Soul rhythms and growing intimacy with their Soul’s purpose in this lifetime. In and of itself, a Vedic Reading offers deep guidance and support to your life and growth path and it can also provide a helpful compliment if you are working with Kari in the context of Somatic Experiencing, Mentorship, Threshold crossings and Grief Tending work.

  • Classes, workshops and retreats are offered throughout the seasons in various forms to support resilient living and somatic wellness. In addition to offering on-going classes, workshops and retreats, I am available on a case-by-case basis to develop customized offerings to support individuals, groups and communities grow capacity for resiliency and mark life stage or growth milestone rites of passage/transitions. “I’ve done a great deal of healing since the death of my husband 3 years ago. While sharing my story was definitely part of the process, the healing now looks like releasing what is stuck in my body through SE Touch work with Kari. Through her loving presence and intuitive, gentle touch Kari provides the support my body needs to remember how to release and heal. Our work together has helped reset my nervous system after years of being in fight or flight, improved my sleep, and helped me realize a greater sense of general well-being and vitality. I’m so grateful to Kari for sharing her gifts and highly recommend her as a practitioner.”

~Donna Helete, Grief Coach and Board President for Outside Now

“Kari Stettler is an incredible mentor and facilitator, holding space with deep love and a keen understanding. She asks "who are you?" and "how are you showing up for this life?" again and again, turning to the heart of things with great compassion and strength. She was a true anchor for me as I walked along the road of those questions, seeing me and reminding me to stay tethered to my aliveness. In an over-culture whose tangled stories tell us to turn away from our own strength and beauty, to keep ourselves small, to fear what is wild within us, Kari and her work are deep medicine. I think of her as a midwife of the soul; with patience and fierce trust she helped loosen many internal knots, and supported me as I rewove the threads into something strong, beautiful, alive, and truly me. I am immeasurably grateful for Kari and how much passion and energy she dedicates to the work of helping people give birth to, and care for, their souls and their holy gifts to this world.”

Kari Stettler and Somatic Resiliency offerings reside on the stolen lands from the ancestral and current inhabitants of Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo tribal nations. These communities, currently represented by but not limited to, The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, who have called this place home for hundreds of generations before European and other mixed race settlers arrived, are the original and current human stewards of these dynamic ecologies. The diverse landscapes of this region which provide an abundance of food, medicine and textiles from which I benefit is an ongoing legacy from generations of their tending. Wherever you are reading this from, I invite you to take a moment, reflect on the Indigenous peoples of the place you call home. How can you learn more about them, their culture, their stories of past and present, and most importantly, what can you do to support your local Indigenous led organizations, projects and movements? If you are living in or around the “Bay Area of California”, there is a list on the Resources page of local Indigenous-led organizations and projects you can consider researching and supporting.
